We welcomed 7 lovely new Junior Infants this year in the Junior room. They have settled in so well and are into the swing of things at St. Matthias NS. Typically it’s been another very busy and exciting first term. We have been doing lots of fine motor skills to prepare the Infants for writing. An Autumn scavenger hunt was ticked off and lots of lovely leaves collected for our Autumn table. Halloween came and all students put in their usual creative efforts with their costumes. Our tent in the upper yard was transformed into a spooky laboratory where various potions were concocted. Junk art continues to be one of our favourite art lessons. It’s amazing to see the excitement in transforming some recyclable materials into new treasures. There’s always fierce excitement and pride in bringing home their new inventions!
