It was an eventful week at St. Matthias NS in February when we made pancakes on Shrove Tuesday and then celebrated World Book Day a couple of days later. Original outfits and lots of colour were on display as the children brought in their favourite books and chatted about them to their friends. The Senior room also paid a visit to the Junior room where they teamed up with a younger student and created a book of short stories together. In pairs, they brainstormed ideas and the Senior student typed up the story whilst the Junior student did the illustration. Then the stories were laminated and bound to make a story book for all to enjoy. It was extra sweet this time as this type of indoor whole school collaboration wasn’t able to happen for the last 2 years due to Covid restrictions.
