We spent a very enjoyable day learning new cycling skills in the Ballydehob community park recently. Under the watchful eye of Cyclesense, the pupils spent 3 hours alternating between 3 stations acquiring new skills and getting comfortable with road safety. They were doing slow cycles and completing an obstacle course in their groups. Ruth Bullough taught us how to check our tyres and brakes before we set off for a cycle from the park through the village and back to St. Matthias. Our local Garda from Schulll, Martin Bohane even provided us with our very own Garda escort to ensure our utmost safety. This day was part of a nationwide cycling week aimed at improving cycling skills and safety awareness .
