Children form the Senior room, today took part in a 3km. orienteering activity in Glengarriff Woods. The object of the exercise was to navigate, in sequence, to different control points along a special course, using an ordinance survey map. Peer Writing Peer Writing began in our classrooms this month. Each senior room student was partnered up with a student from the junior room. Christmas celebrations at St. Matthias’ School Ballydehob
Christmas Nativity Concert. The children drew and cut out characters for the shadow puppetry, which followed the story of Christmas. Carols at Ballydehob Christmas Fair
On Sunday 27th November 2016, the children of Saint Matthias National School were invited to sing carols on stage at the Ballydehob Christmas Fair. They also entered the art competition entitled “Santa claus is coming to town”. The winners are yet to be announced. A great day was had by all and it was a lovely
St. Matthias pupils help less fortunate children
We are so proud of our pupils, shown here with their Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal Certificate. The children donated gift filled shoeboxes to the needy children of Eastern Europe and Africa.
School Calendar 2016 – 2017
School Calendar 2016 – 2017 School lunches will begin again from Monday November 7th. Children will be provided daily with a filled sandwich, roll or wrap or soup and roll, plus a piece of fruit and dairy product.
